Drawing inspiration from the most basic form of containment (the cups of your hand) and using hand-building methods, each vessel was made by merging the mouths of two cups together. 1 + 1 = 1 talks about the union of people; although joined, traces of the original cup can still be found within the terrain of the vessels, subtly hinting at the presence of the self within the whole, the parts that make up the sum.
